IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
After the huge success of the Leeds Half Marathon 2009 we are delighted to be organising the
event again in 2010 on Sunday, May 9th. This will be contested around a similar 13 mile route as
previous years. Changes to the route occur at the Start, which will now be moved back up to
Millennium Square, where the Finish line is. In addition the route will now go straight across
Lawnswood roundabout. To facilitate these changes the route within the 'Spens' will now
incorporate West Parade, Ashleigh Road, West Park Drive and North Parade.
This year's event features a spectacular combined start through Leeds City Centre and a
magnificent finish for all races in Millennium Square, greeted by the Lord Mayor and other guests.
Leeds City Council as traffic authority for the Leeds Metropolitan District, has made an order
prohibiting and restricting the use of certain roads and road junctions by vehicles to facilitate the
holding of the Leeds Half Marathon on Sunday 9th May 2010. (see over)
The event will require the closure of roads and road junctions as well as the suspension of a
number of Traffic Regulation Orders.
The order comes into effect on Sunday 9th May 2010 and continues in force as necessary during
the course of the event between 6:30am hours and 4:00pm. Where necessary, local diversions
will be in operation, signed as appropriate.
Date: Sunday 9th May 2010
Start Time: 9:30am
